| It’s time to Stop Factory Farming! |
This month’s email bulletin is dedicated to the launch of SAFE’s exciting new ‘Stop Factory Farming’ campaign. The website is packed full with new, expanded content, resources and ways for New Zealanders to get on board. In the next few weeks you will see billboards, posters, website and TV advertising taking the message out into the world.
The Stop Factory Farming campaign reveals New Zealand’s dark secret – it’s not just battery cages, or crates for pigs, but also the cruelty suffered by millions of chickens raised for meat, and the forgotten turkeys, cows, ducks and fish farmed in cruel conditions.
Asking politicians to do something is one thing, but this campaign empowers consumers to make a difference in their own lives, each day. Whether in the supermarket, at home, in social situations or at work, each individual can choose to bring an end to factory farming.
A very special thank you goes to the SAFE supporters who are helping make this happen! |

HOW PIGS STILL SUFFER In 2009, SAFE’s ‘Love Pigs’ campaign led to a real change in the welfare and regard for pigs – a phase-out of the stalls. However, despite this progress, the pig industry still relies on factory farming systems and fails on a number of animal welfare counts. Find out more.

A GENETIC MONSTROSITY MOTHER NATURE NEVER INTENDED ‘Meat’ chickens, selectively bred for fast growth and high meat production, reach adult size in just six weeks – causing them severe welfare problems.
