AUCKLAND

West Auckland SAFE night
7pm Thursday 3 July, Titirangi Community House, 500 South Titirangi Road
A follow up meeting and vegan pot luck to meet each other and talk about upcoming activities in the west. There are stalls and collections (among other things) being planned for the coming months. Please RSVP to Polly and Mel at (pollymel@hotmail.com).

Auckland collections
Volunteers are dressing up as their favourite animal and hitting the streets to raise funds for the Love Pigs campaign! SAFE is organising weekly collections outside local supermarkets around the city. If you can collect for a few hours in your local area please email eliot@safe.org.nz

Introducing animals into the classroom

The latest SAFE school booklet in the Animals & Us series has just been released into New Zealand secondary schools. This booklet entitled Animal Rights, Human Values, Social Action introduces the learner to the philosophies and history of the modern animal rights movement and explores how social action is driven by human values. SAFE Education Officer, Nichola Kriek will give an overview of the resource and explain how teachers and students can benefit from exploring the relationship between the human and non-human animal. All welcome!

Volunteer meetings
These are now held on the first Thursday of every month, 7-9pm at SAFE, Level 1, 145 Armagh St. Meetings will include guest speakers or education/discussion sessions on animal rights issues, and info on events/actions you can get involved with. Christchurch collections
If you enjoyed collecting for SAFE during the annual appeal in December then this one's for you! SAFE is organising monthly collections outside supermarkets around Christchurch to raise money for the LovePigs campaign. If you can collect for a few hours or are interested in helping at one of our other monthly collections, please email sacha@safe.org.nz

The dates and locations of the upcoming collections are as follows:

Saturday 12th July at The Warehouse Northlands (Papanui)
Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July at The Warehouse Blenheim Rd (Riccarton)

WELLINGTON

Information stalls
Regular events are held in Wellington to raise awareness of intensive pig farming and other animal cruelty issues. Anyone wishing to help educate the public and recruit new SAFE members and volunteers email: wellington@safe.org.nz

TAURANGA

There will be a protest outside Loritz Circus this Saturday 5 July at the Tauranga Racecource. The protest will begin at 12.45pm. Email Sarah for more info at vegepride@hotmail.com

VOLUNTEERING FOR SAFE

SAFE has volunteer coordinators and supporters throughout New Zealand who help promote SAFE's work and support our national campaigns. Volunteering for SAFE is an essential role as it helps to spread the message against animal cruelty issues across New Zealand.

Volunteers can organise or assist with undertaking stalls, displays, public meetings, protest actions, fundraising events and actively support SAFE humane education programme. You are invited to support our work by getting involved locally. We have volunteers in the following centres:
