CUPCAKE BATTLES!

When it comes to scrumptious vegan cupcakes available in Auckland, competition is becoming intense and heating up more every day.

Several stores and caterers are offering vegan cupcakes. The SAFE staff are reportedly being lured out of the office in search of the best sugar-coated fix. SAFE office manager Eliot Pryor says he must make a special mention of his friends at Revel for their variety of delicious vegan cupcakes.

The K'Road positioned café usually offers three varieties of flavoured cupcakes daily such as pumpkin and chocolate, coffee and chai, lemon, and walnut and maple. Iced and looking delicious he asserts!

"Revel cooks Liz and Tara say they are having fun ‘playing around,' but Liz insists the delicious inspirations are no secret. Recipes come from the recipe book ‘Vegan cupcakes take over the world' which she recommends to everyone," says Eliot.

"Liz says lots of her friends are vegan and she has one with a vegan blog who writes about her culinary exploits on her AucklandVegan blog."

Revel worker Hana says they've been selling well and there's a new cupcake culture around town. She says cupcakes are cool again because they're attractive, easy to eat and sweet. Liz suggests the vegan community in particular may be more obsessed about food and spread the word when they find good things.
