One of the key areas of SAFE's work is education. Since 2004 SAFE has been committed to creating a strong and effective national learning programme.

Animals & Us

A significant component of SAFE's education work is the highly acclaimed and unique Animals & Us textbook series (the only New Zealand-wide programme promoting animal rights issues to secondary school children). Animals & Us textbooks are designed to advance knowledge and understanding of the relationship between human and non-human animals while fostering attitudes and values of compassion, respect and empathy.

SAFE Speakers

Learn more about animal rights from our team of SAFE speakers. This free service is available in some New Zealand centres.

SAFE Animal Squad

Young people aged between 8-14yrs are welcome to join our free SAFE Animal Squad group. Members receive three SAFE Youth newsletters per year and a SAFE Youth membership badge.
