Team SAFE to race for animals at the Auckland Half Marathon

September 21st, 2017

At this year’s iconic Auckland Marathon on 29  October, a SAFE team will be racing for the animals. Can we count on  your help to get us over the finish line?

SAFE campaigns for animals year-round to end the use of intensive  farming practices, such as colony cages in which laying hens are  confined, or sow crates which imprison mother pigs for 4-5 weeks. We  also raise awareness about the more than 100 million chickens suffering  due to extreme breeding practices when they grow too fast to support  their own weight. We offer education programmes and other solutions,  including working with retailers and other organisations to work towards  more animal-friendly systems.

Please help ‘Team SAFE’ make significant change for exploited animals – all funds go to raising  awareness, challenging cruel practices, changing attitudes and  educating Kiwis of all ages about the plight of animals in New Zealand.

Thank you so much for your generosity, and for helping SAFE to improve the lives of all animals!

‘TEAM SAFE’ Mark (Chair of the Board of Trustees), Jasmijn (CEO) and Andrew (Director of Research and Education)

P.P.S.

Two weeks after team SAFE’s team aced the Christchurch Half Marathon on June 4th,  Mark Rocket, Jasmijn de Boo and Andrew Knight participated in the  Wellington Half Marathon. Andrew had just come off a plane from the UK  only 30 hours prior. Jasmijn suffered a running injury and completed the  21.1-kilometre course in just over 2h, while Mark beat Andrew by 30  seconds in just under 1 hour and 40 minutes. Andrew is now keen to get a  second chance.
