SAFE renews calls for a ban on rodeo ahead of summer season

Every summer, countless animals are subjected to fear, stress, risk of injury and death – all for the sake of ‘entertainment.’ Ahead of this weekend’s season opening, SAFE is calling for an end to rodeo in Aotearoa. Around 35 rodeos take place in New Zealand each year, many including activities such as calf roping, bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, saddle bronc riding and bull riding.
